Explanation: This article will show you how to properly configure Mail.app for use with TLS encryption on any of our services.

Step 1: Open Mail

Open Apple Mail. Usually it will be on your dock or (from the top toolbar) Go → Applications → Mail

Step 2: Open Preferences

Click 'Mail,' and select 'Preferences…'

Step 3: Open Accounts

Open the 'Accounts' tab, and click the plus sign (+) along the bottom to add a new account. Select 'IMAP' in the 'Account Type' drop-down menu.

Step 4: General Setup

Enter your name and FULL E-Mail address as the username (when asked), then click 'Continue.'

Step 5: Incoming Setup

Enter the mailserver specified in your Welcome E-Mail next to 'Incoming Mail Server'; enter your full E-Mail address next to 'User Name'; enter your account password; then click 'Continue.'

Step 6: Outgoing Setup

For Outgoing Mail Server, enter the same mailserver you entered in step 5; select 'Use Authentication'; enter your full E-Mail address next to 'User Name'; and enter your password. Then click 'Continue.'

Step 7: Setup Complete

You should see 'A new account has been created'. Click 'Done'. Under Accounts, on the 'Account Information' tab, below 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)' click 'Server Settings'

Step 8: Verify Settings

Verify that 'Outgoing Mail Server' is mail.example.com:username@example.com. *This is an example assuming your domain was example.com and address was username@example.com. Use the actual values from what you set up and your Welcome E-Mail* Verify that 'Server port' is 25 or 587 (Try 25 first, but be advised that some ISPs block port 25 outgoing and there is nothing we can do about this except to provide the same service on 587 for your convenience). Verify that 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)' is checked. Enter your full E-Mail address next to 'User Name,' enter your password, and click 'OK.'

Step 9: Use SSL for IMAP

In 'Accounts' under the 'Advanced' tab, check the box next to 'Use SSL.' (The port changes to '993.')
