Creating a new email account

Please follow the instructions below. Make sure your settings match those in the pictures and your email should be up and running very quickly. (Obviously replace "username" with your user name and "" with your actual domain name.)

1. From the "Tools" pull-down menu select the "Accounts" option.

2. Select and click on the "Add" button for "Directory Service".

3. To select the proper Account Type, make sure "Email Account" is selected and click on the "Next" button.

4. Enter your "Display Name". (This is your full name as you would like it to appear when you send messages to other people.) Then click "Next".

5. Enter Your Email Address and click "Next". (This is the address that your contacts' email program will reply to your messages. This is also the address that will get recorded in your contacts' address book if they add you as a contact. )

6. Within the 'Setup e-mail servers' screen:

  • Select "POP3" from the list of server types.
  • Enter 'YOUR DOMAIN NAME' in the 'Incoming Mail Server' field.
  • Enter 'YOUR DOMAIN NAME AGAIN' in the 'Outgoing Mail Server' field.
  • Check the box which reads "Outgoing server requires authentication".
  • Click "Next".

7. Enter your Radical Webs user ID in the 'Account Name' field, and your assigned password in 'Password' field.
Click "Next".

8. Make sure 'Do not download my e-mail and folders at this time' checkbox is checked and click the "Finish" button to return to your account list.

9. Highlight your newly created mail account, then click the "Properties" button.

10. Click on the "Servers" tab.

  • Under 'Outgoing Mail Server', check the box labeled 'This server requires authentication'.

  • Click "Settings" button.

  • Check that ' Logon Information' is set to Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.

  • Click the "OK" button.

  • Click the "Advanced" tab.

  • Make sure that the SMTP Port Number is set to 5190.

  • Make sure that the POP Port Number is set to 110.

  • IMPORTANT!!! You MUST change the Outgoing Server (SMTP): to 5190 and click on "OK".

Why?? Many ISP's have started to block the relaying of email through the default port 25. Using this alternative port allows you to send email via your Radical Webs email account. This setting accounts for almost 90% of all support calls so please make sure you have yours set correctly.

Congratulations! Your goldcoastinternet email account has been successfully set up.
